Teacher & Nurses Appreciation Week Day #2
Congratulations to LISD's Student of the Month for April Jaylyn Gonzalez.Gonzalez is an eighth-grade student at Lamar Middle School. She is a proud member of the Mighty Lion Volleyball team.
Her favorite part of the school day is when she gets to go to athletes because she is able to work out and exercise.
In her free time Jaylyn likes to draw, and play volleyball and softball.
She plans on attending Nixon High School. Her main goal is to graduate from college and to hopefully become a nurse to help others.
She attended Gallego Elementary School. Her parent are Vanessa Garza and Fernando Gonzalez.

Mental Health Awareness
LISD High School and Middle School Fine Arts students were recognized and honored with Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Medals for their outstanding achievement in Attendance, Citizenship, and Excellence during the district’s ACE Awards Ceremony at the LISD PAC.
Today is National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Please thank your Bus Driver for all they do for LISD's students and staff.
Thank you to Kona Ice for their generous support during our last Saturday Tutorial for the STAAR Exam preparation. Our students received a refreshing Kona Ice treat as a cool reward for their dedication and attendance.
Due to a city water line break, classes at M. B. Lamar Middle School, LISD will be canceled for today, April 18th. Classes will resume as normal tomorrow April 19th, 2024
